The Company

Alimentari was established in 2016 and was born out of the owner’s love of Italian cuisine.. With a wide range of Italian groceries, sweets and prepared foods the store has become a neighbourhood staple in Roncesvalles and a favourite go to for all Italian food lovers across the GTA alike.

The Challenge

As a busy retail store, Alimentari’s inventory and pricing is constantly changing. One major challenge the store saw in having an online presence was having the ability to synchronize inventory and pricing on their online store on a continuous basis in a way that spoke directly with their point of sale system. In addition to this, they lacked support from their POS company to be able to integrate both their online and the complexities involved in an integration proved to be daunting.

The Solution

Grocer Box acted as a liaison, communicating with the technical team of the POS company and developed a custom software module that pushed inventory and pricing updates into the online store on a scheduled basis.Grocer Box also developed a beautiful custom designed online store alongside implementing automated city wide delivery through its network of couriers in the greater Toronto area, as driving traffic to the site through its digital marketing initiatives.
