The Company
Eataly was established in Turin, Italy in 2007, and now has 39 markets across 11 countries. In addition to providing authentic Italian products and groceries, the marketplace provides customers with educational resources such as cooking classes, and the opportunity to dine at several restaurants.
The Challenge
As an experiential marketplace, Eataly places a great deal of emphasis on ensuring its customers are educated about its products and does so by immersing their customers in an in store experience that is difficult to emulate online.The challenge of facilitating the operational complexities involved in fulfilling online orders at a high volume in a streamlined fashion also proved to be a daunting task, given the number of sales channels available to customers both online and offline.
The Solution
The Grocer Box design team worked closely with Eataly to help create an online experience (UI/UX), that emulated the in store experience. In addition to this, Grocer Box helped develop a solution that gave Eataly the ability to streamline its picking and packing process, help manage and fulfill deliveries on both a National and Local level and allow its staff to easily manage content changes on the front end design of the website.
